Changes to Our Spotlights Program

At SistersAct, we are always looking for ways to create the best possible experience for our students. After much thought, we have made some changes to how students join our Spotlights program.

Beginning this season, Spotlights will become an invitation-only program for current SistersAct students.

Here's how it will work:

• Students must be enrolled in one of our Intermediate classes to be considered. Students in Beginner classes will continue building the skills needed to prepare for future opportunities.

• Throughout the season, our directors will be watching for students who demonstrate the acting, singing, performance skills, work ethic, maturity, and commitment needed for Spotlights.

• At registration, current Spotlights members who have maintained continuous enrollment will have first priority to reserve their place for the upcoming season.

• Former Spotlights members who did not maintain continuous enrollment are welcome to be reconsidered for the program but will not receive priority placement.

• After returning Spotlights members have registered, we will evaluate all remaining openings. At that time, we will consider:

  • Intermediate SistersAct students who have demonstrated the skills, work ethic, and maturity needed for Spotlights,

  • Former Spotlights members who did not maintain continuous enrollment, and

  • Video auditions submitted by new students (ages 12+) interested in joining the program.

Based on the available openings, invitations will be extended by email to the students we believe are the best fit for Spotlights.

An invitation means that we believe you are ready for Spotlights and that a place has been reserved for you should you choose to accept.

New Students Ages 12+

Students who are new to SistersAct and are 12 years of age or older may submit a video audition consisting of:

• One monologue

• One song

These auditions allow us to appropriately evaluate students who may already have significant theatre experience before joining SistersAct.

We believe this new process allows us to better support our students while ensuring that every performer joins Spotlights at the right time in their theatrical journey. We are excited to continue helping each student grow and can't wait to welcome future Spotlights members!
